Romanian Localization, Done With Free Modules First
An ERP running in Romania has to speak the language of ANAF. This is where generic international setups fall short, and where working with a Romanian team pays off.
Start with the good news: Romanian e-Factura is built into Odoo itself. Since version 17, the core l10n_ro_edi module handles electronic invoicing, so your invoices reach the SPV without a paid connector bolted on the side. SAF-T D406 reporting is available too, as an Odoo Enterprise module, for the companies that need it.
For the rest of the Romanian fiscal picture we lean on the OCA l10n-romania repository: free, community-maintained modules that run on Odoo Community Edition. Our default approach is to implement Romanian compliance on Community using these free modules wherever they cover the requirement, and to reach for paid options only when they genuinely do not.
