Warehouse Control Without the Warehouse Chaos

Odoo Inventory manages stock the way accountants manage money: with double-entry moves. Every unit that enters, leaves, or moves inside your warehouse is a recorded stock move between locations, which means quantities are always explainable — no more mystery shrinkage, and no more "the system says twelve but the shelf says nine" without a trail to investigate.

The app scales from a single stockroom to a network of warehouses with zones, racks, and bins. Receipts, internal transfers, picking, packing, and shipping each get their own operation types and can run as one-step or multi-step flows. Reordering rules, minimum stock levels, and make-to-order routes keep replenishment automatic, whether goods come from suppliers or from your own production.

Because Inventory shares its data with Sales, Purchase, and Manufacturing, availability is always live: a confirmed sales order reserves stock instantly, and a low stock level can trigger a purchase quotation by itself. Receive against purchase orders

Incoming shipments are pre-filled from the purchase order. Scan or confirm quantities, register lots or serial numbers on arrival, and discrepancies are logged for the buyer to resolve.

Put away to the right location

Putaway rules send each product to its correct zone, rack, or bin automatically. Storage categories can enforce capacity limits and product-mixing constraints.

Reserve, pick, pack, ship

Confirmed orders reserve stock according to your removal strategy (FIFO, LIFO, or FEFO). Pickers work from batched or wave picking lists; packing and shipping steps print labels and track parcels per carrier.

Replenish automatically

Is Odoo Inventory free?

Yes — the complete warehouse management application ships with the free Community edition, with unlimited users and warehouses. You pay only for hosting, implementation, and optional Enterprise features such as the official Barcode app.

Can I use barcode scanners without Enterprise?

Yes. The OCA module stock_barcodes brings scanning workflows — receipts, transfers, counts — to Community, working with standard USB or Bluetooth scanners and mobile devices. Enterprise's Barcode app remains an option if you prefer the official interface.

Does Odoo track lots, serial numbers, and expiry dates?

Yes. Products can be tracked by lot or by unique serial number end to end, with upstream and downstream traceability reports. Expiration dates enable FEFO picking and automatic alerts before stock expires — essential for food and pharma.

Can Odoo manage several warehouses?

Yes, natively. Each warehouse defines its own routes and resupply relationships, so one site can automatically replenish another, and sales orders can source from a specific warehouse or from the nearest available stock.

Does Odoo Inventory work for e-commerce order fulfillment?
