Odoo Point of Sale
Modern, reliable point of sale system that works online and offline. Perfect for retail, restaurants, and service businesses.
A Point of Sale That Keeps Selling When the Wi-Fi Drops
Odoo POS is the register application in the Odoo suite, and it runs in a browser on almost any touchscreen: a tablet at a market stall, an all-in-one terminal at the checkout, or the phone in a server's apron. It reads from the same database as the rest of Odoo, so the products you ring up and the customers you greet are the same records your inventory and accounting already track. Nothing gets re-keyed between the shop floor and the back office.
The feature that earns its keep is offline operation. The register loads your catalog, prices, and customer list into the browser when a session starts, then keeps working if the internet goes down mid-shift. Cashiers carry on scanning items, taking cash, and printing receipts, and every ticket syncs back once the connection returns. A dropped line during a busy Saturday lunch stops being an emergency. On top of that you get price lists, discounts, gift cards, loyalty points, and cash-drawer control across as many registers as you run.
Aerya implements, hosts, and customizes Odoo POS for retailers and restaurants across the United States, from a single boutique to a chain with lanes in several states. We wire up the hardware, set your state and local tax rules, connect the payment flow, and shape the receipt and reporting to match how you actually trade. Because we build on the Community edition, there is no per-user licensing bill: add a lane or a seasonal cashier and your software cost does not move.

A Shift on the Register, Start to Finish
How a normal trading day moves through Odoo POS, from opening the shop configuration to counting the drawer at close.
Configure the shop
Before the first sale, you set up a POS configuration: which products and price lists it shows, the payment methods it accepts, what prints on the receipt, and which scanner, printer, and cash drawer it talks to. Restaurants switch on floor plans and tables here as well.
Open the session
A cashier signs in and opens the session, counting the notes and coins already in the drawer and entering that opening float. From this point on, every sale, refund, and cash movement is tied to the session and to the person running it, which is what makes the end-of-day count add up.
Sell at the counter
Items go onto the ticket by barcode scan or a tap on the product grid. You add a discount or a loyalty reward, attach the customer if they have an account, and in a restaurant you fire the order to the kitchen and keep it on the table until the guests ask for the check.
Take payment
Payment can be split across tenders: part cash, the rest on a card, with the change worked out for you. The register logs each method on its own, applies the tax you configured for that location, and either prints the receipt or emails it to the customer.
Close the session and reconcile
At close, the cashier counts the drawer and records any difference against the expected cash. Odoo then posts the session to accounting as journal entries, split by sales, taxes, and each payment method, and hands the manager a session report to check against the takings.

Works With Other Modules
This module integrates seamlessly with other Odoo applications to create a unified business system.
Odoo POS in Community vs Enterprise
The register runs in full on the free Community edition. Enterprise mostly adds hardware convenience and a few official card integrations.
Community Edition
The whole Point of Sale app is in Community: sessions, receipts, discounts, price lists, gift cards and loyalty, cash control, live inventory sync, and restaurant floor and table management. It runs offline, drives network receipt printers and USB scanners, and posts to accounting at close. For most shops and dining rooms, this is all the register they need, at zero per-user cost.
Enterprise Edition
Enterprise adds the IoT app, which pairs hardware such as scales, certain receipt printers, and payment terminals through an IoT Box with less manual setup, plus official plug-in integrations for some card processors. If you want vendor-supported terminal integration or that plug-and-play hardware path, it can be worth the subscription. We will tell you plainly whether your setup needs it or whether Community and a network printer already cover you.
